Men & Women's Ministries
Men & Women’s Bible School
An important outreach in Uganda is to offer a yearlong course for groups of men and women from the villages. Each group of up to 25 participants stays at the Ministry Building for one week per month. While they are there they will experience the fellowship of other believers, develop in their knowledge of the Bible, and learn skills that will benefit them and others in their villages.
Women’s Ministry
- Bible study
- Praise and worship
- Lessons in health and hygiene, including family planning and HIV/AID prevention
- Learn the skills of sewing and making crafts
- Christian fellowship and witness
At the end of the year, the women receive sewing machines to take back to their villages. They also take with them a new confidence in sharing the Good News with others.
Men’s Ministry
- Bible Study
- Praise and worship
- Training in being a pastor or Christian leader in their community
- Training in evangelism and outreach ministries
- Christian fellowship and witness
At the end of the year, the men receive bicycles to enable them to travel in their communities, encouraging others and witnessing to them. Some of the men will start a church in their area.
Prayer Concerns:
- Funding for this program is needed to help it grow and improve. For example, the women who attend often must bring their small children, which can be a distraction. Funds are needed for baby sitters to allow the women a chance to concentrate.
- Participation in the men’s groups has been weak, with only about half of the men being reliable about attending each day. Please pray that these men will be able to find the way to fulfill their commitment to this program and that God will bless them for the time spent away from work and families.
